Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie for Two
Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 22 minutes | Total Time: 32 minutes
Ingredients:
1/4 cup unsalted butter
3 tbsp light or dark brown sugar
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 large egg yolk, room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup + 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1 oz semisweet or dark chocolate, roughly chopped
Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Vanilla ice cream, for topping
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a 6-inch cast iron skillet and set aside.
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until light brown specks appear (there should be a nutty aroma).
Combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a bowl. Stir until smooth. Add the egg yolk and vanilla and mix until combined.
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir until no streaks of flour remain.
Fold in the chocolate chunks. Be careful not to over-mix.
Spread batter evenly in the prepared cast iron skillet. Sprinkle the top with a little sea salt. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until golden brown. Don't overbake as you want the cookie to be slightly gooey.
Remove from oven and let cool on a wire cooling rack for 10-15 minutes.
Serve with ice cream, if desired, and indulge!
